iPhone 8 Repair and iPhone 10 repair – Breaking the new iPhone screen repair barriers

iPhone 8 Repair and iPhone 10 repair

Steve Cook at Apple Park in Cupertino California announced the iPhone 8 and iPhone 10 products to much fanfare and applause at the Steve Jobs Theatre.  While these new phones need to be broken down to determine how repairable they are, we are starting to get some clues about the iPhone Screen Repair issues that we can expect with Apple’s latest iPhones releases.  And there will be some new considerations for those in the independent repair shop world.

What’s the difference in iPhone 8 and iPhone X (10)

The big question on the minds of many consumers is, what’s the big difference between the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 10 (X)?  Much has already been written about this, but it’s a LOT.  In particular, the iPhone 10 has no “home button” like we have been used to in the past.  It’s now authenticated via retina scans and this is a really big change.  You must LOOK at the phone to open it.  Apple says this gives more security and makes life easier.  Hmmm.  Sounds like a big move… and we just need to wait and see what consumers think about this new facial recognition technology.

Using the A11 Chip from Apple and something called “Bionic Technology”, the new iPhone X is a big technology risk for Apple, the world’s most valuable company.  And it has been somewhat controversial that Apple removed the TouchID, something most consumers have grown to love in their older smartphones… from the iPhone 6s all the way through the iPhone 8.  It may be a hard switch, similar to the revolt at losing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 (something Phil Schiller described as “courageous”).

Breaking the new iPhone screen repair barriers

When it comes to repairs, it seems the iPhone 8 will be the easier of the 2 for iPhone Screen Repair.  It is most similar to the iPhone 7 in design (with the big exception of the all-glass back side).  They made this change to enable wireless-charging on the iPhone 8, using the industry standard of this technology called Qi.  In fact, the Apple website is already selling a Belkin wireless charging pad for just $59.95.
